Death Match
Death Match was the first of the fundraising efforts made by our course; George, Luke and Wilf created and ran the project - a 7 day long water-gun assassination tournament, held in our very own Farnham. The game is based on a popular game called Street Wars which is staged in the US.
The game started during the very early hours of the morning on Monday the 6th October when the mysterious organisation, ‘The Bureau’ delivered the starting packs for the contestants. Contestants were provided with plastic water-guns, a rules sheet, telling them every can-do and can-don’t, and their first target sheet.
Communication of the game was conducted by text-only, during a kill incident for example, both the killer and the victim had to confirm to the Bureau what had just happened. We experienced a fairly quick rise in the amount of kills on the first day, but it leveled out over the week. From this, three main competitors shone above the rest, and by the end of the week, there were six competitors remaining.
Fortunately for the Bureau, one of their oldest rivals had arranged a visit to Farnham at the end of the week. Seizing this opportunity, an ultimate assassination was arranged to determine the winner. With the target slain and the champion found, the first Death Match was over, a great success all around.

Hello. This is the blog for Dialogue, a 3rd year degree show for students studying on the Advertising & Brand Communication course at UCA Farnham. Our aim is to create more than the show itself, but to showcase the variety of thinking and approaches taken by the students themselves. One aspect shared throughout is the ability to create ideas for any media that are more than just a message. Based upon this thought, the aim of this space is to document and develop the story behind our show and create a dialogue with those who take an interest. With this, we hope that the experience of all those who take a second to participate (even if you just read this blog) will be enriched. Please use Firefly for your comments.
